| In the late fifties, the sixties and the seventies these proud towers radiated a unique sound, because they were the beacons of "The Giant of the South." For the lucky few of us who worked there, and the lucky many who listened, WKIX was more than just a radio station. It was a force, a spirit, a way of life.
The WKIX Alumni Association is a very special group, pioneers in a new kind of radio entertainment, who started a new genre then worked to expand, improve and polish it to a shine that still gleams in memories throughout the southeast.
